Glow bracelets are essentially 8-inch long glowsticks 5 or 6mm diameter wide. After being activated, two ends of the glowing sticks can be connected with plastic connectors to form a small loop to create glowing bracelets. Glow bracelets have been party favors all around the world, used in birthday parties, dancing parties, Mardi Gras, July 4th, proms, Halloween’s, parade, camping, glow in the dark office parties and many more. Glow bracelets are used as jewelry wears most of the time, but do you know you can also create glowie toys with them? For example, you can create a glowing ball with a few bracelets and glowing ball connectors. You can also use your imagination to create your own geometric glowie designs.

Glowing bracelets generate light through chemical reactions and produce no heat, flame, or sparks. They are safe toys for outdoor activities such as camping, night golfing etc. Not only do they add a lot of fun, but also provide safety by lighting up the players at night. A glowing bracelet comes in many wonderful colors such as green, yellow, red, pink, orange, purple, blue and white. You can also get an assortment of the solid colors. There are also tri-color glowie bracelets such as green-yellow-pink and red-green-blue and red-white-blue, especially popular for July 4th. A quality glow bracelet can last 6-8 hours, long enough for a whole night’s fun. And due to their small size, glowie bracelets are inexpensive and affordable. For 100 pieces of tri-color or assorted color bracelets, you can get them for a little over $10 and for large quantity, discount would apply. The shelf life of these bracelets is 1 year if kept in original packages in room temperature. So if you have more than one night events in a year where you need these fun bracelets, it would make economic sense to purchase glowing bracelets in a wholesale order.

Opals are quite fragile in relation to some of the other gemstones. On Mohs hardness scale, developed by Frederich Mohs, it rates about 5.5 to 6.5. To put that into perspective the lead in pencil rates about 1 since it is so soft and diamond rates at 10 which is the hardest. This means that opal gemstones do need to be looked after and you do not want to wear them when they might get scratched like doing the gardening or other manual work. This applies to all opal gemstones including ones such as fire opal jewelry. You may think that rings would be stronger but the gem itself such as in a black opal ring could still get scratched.

Opal gemstones contain a lot of water content which can be up to 21% but more usually is around 10% for precious gemstones. This means that they do not like exposure to prolonged heat or low humidity since it will dry them out and may cause cracking called crazing. Make sure you avoid rapid temperature changes for the same reason.

To clean your opal gemstones it does depend on what type of opal it is. If it is a solid opal then you can soak it in warm water with a little detergent without any worries and then wipe it with a soft cloth. If you have opal doublets or triplets then you do not want to soak it in water since that may affect the glue between the layers. If water gets in between the layers then it can give the opals a foggy appearance. Doublets and triplets can be cleaned with a soft cloth but make sure it is soft so that the gemstones do not get scratched.

To store your opal gemstones keep them away from other jewelry since gems such as diamonds can scratch them. If your gemstones are going to be put away for a long period put them in a plastic bag with a damp cotton wool ball and then seal the plastic bag. This should keep the air moist enough to keep them from crazing. If the opals are only going to put away for a short period then putting them in a soft bag away from other jewelry should be fine.

Gemstones are one of the most precious substances known to mankind. Their worth alone is reason enough for us to care for them. A gemstone can cost a fortune and one scratch or impurity can ruin there value. As strong and durable as they may be, they can be scratched, dirtied and even broken if mishandled. There is not much we can do to care for them, but some precautions are necessary.

Cleaning gemstones requires a simple knowledge about gemstones. There are generally two kinds of gemstones; transparent and opaque. Transparent gemstones will make dust visible even if it gathers behind the stone on the ring or any form of jewelry that holds them. These are mostly single crystal stones and therefore application of water will not affect them too much. The use of a soaked cloth to clean the dust gather behind the stone is therefore not a bad move. You may even use a brush to clean the dust if you like.

However, opaque gemstones or organic gemstones are affected by water or any chemical substance. These are usually porous and will allow the water or chemical to flow inside the gemstone. Once inside they can either build up inside, make the stone loose its color or even cause it to crack. Therefore these kind of gemstones should be kept away direct contact with any kind of chemical in sprays, cosmetics and even from water.

There are advanced methods using certain technology to help clean gemstones. Expert jewelers and dealers are well-versed with all these methods and know how to clean each specific kind of gemstone. Therefore it is advised that you do not do the cleaning yourself and rather, have it done by someone who knows more about how to deal with them. Gemstones are hard materials. In contact with some other gemstone or the metals which contain them such as gold, they can crack each other or the metal. Therefore care must be taken with jewelry how it is kept and handled. Jewelry is expensive and valuable, especially those with precious gemstones in them, therefore they should be treated with care.

Generally the gemstones mean by those elements that are made by rock or mineral what is used in jewelry. It not called by gemstone until the stones are polished, cut or faceted. Gemstones are organized all the way through numerous conducts. With the chemical masterpiece they are grouped. Most of the time people want very much to buy delicate jewelry, but give the impression of being for the cheap gemstone but search for very parallel to the luxurious ones. Actually there are about hundreds of gemstones that have corresponding look-alike in the wide variety of colors accessible, more than ever for the big three that is to say- greens, reds and blues.

For illustration, a variety of gemstones are presented in a sparkling red that could be incorrect for ruby. This includes blistering jewelry like rubellite tourmaline, red spinel, red beryl and rhodolite garnet. Blue gemstones are yields of a variety of minerals like tanzanite, sapphire, iolite, benitoite, and indicolite tourmaline, with an attribute color, brightness, and gleam for each gem color. In fact for green, you can regard as tsavorite garnet, emerald and chrome tourmaline. Tsavorite garnet is awfully similar to the clean green shadow of the bright green, whereas peridot and chrome tourmaline have good-looking yellowish-green tinge.

Always think about how you would be tiring the jewelry and their predictable sturdiness before exchange them. While burgundy might not be as tough as ruby it might still be hard-wearing and therefore used in charms and rings. In difference tourmaline is not as durable as ruby. Benitoite, tanzanite, and iolite are softer minerals that require gentler management. They are tatty best in jewelry and pendants. Navy, without uncertainty, is the most excellent choice for vigorous or uncovered jewels, like trinkets and necklaces that are tattered daily. Out of these kinds of precious gemstones there are many semi- precious gemstones and you can find the loose gemstones in your local jeweler. Though they are not so look good but you can prepare a ring by it and it will be cheap.

Ear piercing has been a part of human culture ever since the earliest hunter gatherer tribes. Though the phrase ear piercing most often refers to a single hole in the earlobe, there are at least eight other locations for the ear to be pierced. The process of having your cartilage pierced is usually more elaborate and painful than a piercing in the lobe. Earrings, studs, and loops for ear piercings are made out of a wide variety of materials. These include metal, plastic, wood, stone, and glass. Many earrings are fairly cheap, and can be bought almost anywhere.

In recorded history, earrings have been traced back to the ancient city of Perspolis, Persia, where the illustrations on the walls depict soldiers wearing earrings. The oldest earrings ever discovered were crafted in 2500 BC Iraq. During the Dark Ages, when most of the populace was impoverished, the popularity of earrings and other pieces of jewelry sharply declined. As nations rose again, especially during the Roman Empire, jewelry was crafted and worn with gusto as a sign of status and luxury. The popularity of earrings also largely depended on the fashions that prevailed at the time.

During the Middle Ages, when attention was directed towards elaborate hairstyles and skillfully crafted dresses, earrings lost priority. However, as collars became higher and hair was worn up, earrings became more popular. Though there was no International Gem Institute back during this time, so IGI appraisals could not be given, there were still several jewel experts who could tell a customer if their jewel was high quality or not. Different types of earrings were designed as civilizations prospered and specialization of labor occurred.

During the 1850s, earrings lost popularity once again. Hair was tied behind the head, covering the ears, or bonnets and hats were worn. In addition, the religious and social sentiments of the time associated earrings with heathens, vanity, and excess. With the 1920s came the advent of the clip on earring, causing ear piercing to fall more out of favor. However, during this time, small groups of males were fond of piercing their ears. Sailors especially saw earrings as a symbol of their seafaring adventures.

They also wore earrings for acupuncture purposes in helping the eyesight and hearing, as well as payment for anyone who finds their shipwrecked bodies to give them a proper burial. Earrings rose in popularity, thanks to hippies and homosexuals in the sixties, punk rockers in the seventies (who inspired fashion trends in multiple piercings), and the majority of women in the eighties. Many people, when buying expensive earrings for themselves or loved ones, prefer to buy a set made with a non conflict diamond or Canadian diamonds.

With the jewelry making business exploding into the economy these days, jewelry making suppliers are a dime a dozen. Because of the thousands of components that it takes to make jewelry, not to forget all of the gems, beads, pendants and charms, an artist needs to research all the avenues in which to find a good jewelry making supplier.

Beginning your research for a good jewelry making supplier should start with yourself. What style of jewelry are you creating, and exactly what are the components and findings that you need to make a beautiful piece? List your components, and then decide exactly what market you are targeting. If it is just friends and family that you are selling to, then perhaps you do not need the best quality of components; a mid-range may do for that audience. If you already have a large medium to sell to, then perhaps the top quality suppliers would be best for your business.

These decisions definitely need to be made before choosing a jewelry making supplier. Once these questions have been answered, start your search. A jewelry making supplier should be reasonably priced and sell quality materials. This doesn’t mean that the higher priced supplier sells the quality merchandise. Search for critiques and reviews of their products.

Find out which manufacturers use their components. Check out their references and make sure they will sell their merchandise in bulk and, if you are a smaller client, make sure they don’t discriminate by the size of the order. A repeat customer is your best customer, whether a large order or a small one. Repeat business is what a jewelry making supplier needs to stay in business.
